Help with using the Fundraising HealthCheck
- You will need the following financial data* for each area you wish to look at:
- Investment - details of your spend to recruit and/or retain donors
- Net Income - bottom line figures from your budget/target, after all costs
- Register your name and email, and select your first area to review (investment or income)
- Input your data, and HealthCheck calculates your level of dependency on each investment area or income stream, and the associated risks.
- Press 'Submit' to receive our predictions and advice.
- Print your report or save it as a web page. To give you complete confidentiality none of your data will be stored when you exit.
*The HealthCheck is best used for projecting forward, so we recommend you use financial information for the coming year.
For example, if you wish to healthcheck your investment, you will need to have to hand all details of your spend either to recruit or retain donors. If you wish to healthcheck your net income, you will need to have bottom line figures from your budgets/targets after all fundraising costs such as materials, staff, office costs have been deducted.
What information will HealthCheck give me?
Each area you wish to review - investment or net income - is divided into discrete income streams, e.g. individual giving, legacies, corporate, community, etc.
HealthCheck will calculate the percentages of your income streams under each area, based on the amounts you enter.
Each income stream has an associated prediction about how the economic downturn may impact on it over the coming 12-18 months.
Each prediction is supported by some general advice which is intended to give you a steer to inform your thinking, and if necessary your budgeting.
The intention is that as the sector's understanding of the recession deepens and further trends begin to emerge, the Fundraising HealthCheck will be refreshed. The Fundraising HealthCheck will retain your email address for the sole purpose of emailing you to advise you when the diagnosis and predictions are updated to provide you with the opportunity to resubmit your data.
